Search Intensifies For Man Accused Of Fatally Stabbing Girlfriend In San Mateo

SAN MATEO (KPIX 5) – Authorities intensified their search Monday for a man accused of fatally stabbing his girlfriend over the weekend.

Police said Anthony Kirincic stabbed his girlfriend at her home on South B Street in San Mateo on Saturday afternoon. The victim, according to authorities, called 911 but had died before police arrived.

Over the weekend, police searched from Walnut Creek to southern San Mateo County for Kirincic.

"There's still a very large search area. We are not keeping it limited to the Bay Area. We're keeping very open about pursuing all of our available leads and finding where the suspect is so we can bring him to justice," Capt. David Norris of the San Mateo Police Department told KPIX 5.

Norris also noted that police have been to the home before. "While I can't get into the arrest history, I can tell you that we have been to that location in several occasions and may of those contacts were domestic violence related," he said.

Police urge anyone who thinks they may see Kirincic not to approach him and to call 911. He is considered armed and dangerous.
