Fatal Saturday-Night Shooting Marks San Jose's 29th Homicide Of 2014

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- Police responded to the scene of a fatal shooting in South San Jose on Saturday night, a police spokeswoman said.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 100 block of Azucar Avenue near Roeder Road around 9:20 p.m., police Sgt. Heather Randol said.

Arriving officers found a man shot and he was pronounced dead at the scene, Randol said.

The Police Department's Homicide Unit responded to the scene to investigate the motive and circumstances surrounding the death, she said.

No arrests were made and the suspect or suspects remain at large, according to Randol.

The death marks the city's 29th homicide this year, Randol said.
