1 Killed In Multi-Vehicle Collision Near Brentwood

OAKLEY (CBS SF) -- One person was killed in a three-car collision Friday evening in an unincorporated area near Brentwood, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers responded just before 4 p.m. to a report of a collision involving in a big-rig truck near the intersection of Marsh Creek Road and Hoffman Lane, CHP Officer William Ogilvie said.

Ogilvie said at least one person was transported to the hospital with critical injuries.

That person was pronounced dead at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, he said.

Ogilvie said he didn't know whether anybody else was injured in the collision.

A Sig-alert was issued for lanes in both directions at 4:21 p.m. and all lanes reopened at 6:48 p.m., according to the CHP.
