Vegetation Fire Burns 253 Acres Near Livermore, Altamont Pass
LIVERMORE (CBS SF) -- A vegetation fire was burning in the hills east of Livermore Thursday afternoon burned more than 200 acres before firefighters stopped its forward progress, according to fire officials.
The fire, named the Hollow Fire, was holding at 253 acres burned as of 7:06 p.m., according to Cal Fire. It started in the area of of 16900 Tesla Road, south of the Altamont Pass.
Units from Cal Fire, Alameda County Fire Department and Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department were responding to the fire, and Cal Fire had requested additional helicopters and air tankers to fight the fire.
At least two structures were threatened but there was no word on whether any structures had burned.
No injuries were reported. There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire.
