Family Of Lynne Spalding Suing City Over Death In SF General Hospital Stairwell

SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX 5) -- The family of a patient at San Francisco General Hospital who was found dead in a stairwell last fall is planning to sue the city.

Lynne Spalding's family has filed a claim, seeking undisclosed damages of more than $25,000. The family blames the city-run hospital and the San Francisco Sheriff's Department for medical malpractice and negligence.

Authorities found Spalding's body on October 8th, more than two weeks later. Officials determined that she had been dead for several days.
