Fallen Tree Shuts Highway 1 In Western Marin County

MARSHALL (CBS SF) -- State Highway 1 is closed in both directions in Marshall in western Marin County Wednesday afternoon due to a fallen tree, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The downed tree, which blocks both lanes, was reported shortly after 2:30 p.m.

The road was closed just south of Meeks Cove with traffic diverting to Marshall Petaluma Road. There is no estimated time for the road to reopen, the CHP said.

Drivers are advised to expect heavy traffic in the area and take alternate routes where possible.
