Facebook's Zuckerberg Spends $100M To Buy 700-Acre Chunk Of Kauai
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has reportedly bought a massive chunk of one of the Hawaiian Islands.
The 700-acre swath includes two properties on the North Shore of Kauai in an effort to create a sanctuary for his family at a price of $100-million, Forbes reported.
A white-sand beach is included in the Pila'a Beach property parcel. A former sugarcane plantation and working organic farm are included with the Kahu'aina Plantation property.
Zuckerberg is reportedly buying out longtime owners occupying small landlocked plots of land within the Kahu'aina property's boundaries so that the compound will be totally private.
