Fast-Moving Brush Fire In Napa Valley Grows To 53 Acres

YOUNTVILLE (CBS SF) -- A 53-acre wildfire forced mandatory evacuations in the Campbell Creek and Campbell Flats areas of unincorporated Napa County Monday evening, according to Cal Fire.

The fire was reported west of Yountville in the 6100 block of Dry Creek Road around 4:15 p.m.

It was initially estimated at 30 to 40 acres, but had grown to 53 acres by 9:30 p.m., according to firefighters, who said the blaze was 25
percent contained at that time.

The fire threatened one structure early on, firefighters said, but no structures have been damaged or destroyed and no injuries have been
reported.

There were roughly 180 personnel fighting the fire Monday night.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The evacuations were reported in a Nixle alert around 5:40 p.m. An evacuation center has been set up at the Crosswalk Community Church at 2590

First St. in Napa, Napa County sheriff's deputies said.

Dry Creek Road has been closed in the area of the fire.
