Estranged Husband Of Daly City Woman Charged With Her Murder

DALY CITY (CBS SF) -- A Daly City man was charged with murdering his wife Monday after she was found dead at her Daly City home last Thursday, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney.

Ruby Gim, 65, was found dead at her home in the 400 block of Florence Street at 7:40 a.m., according to the San Mateo County coroner's office.

The woman's estranged husband, Daniel Thomas, 65, was found at the home, police said.

He had a domestic violence restraining order to stay away from Gim, and he was arrested on suspicion of violating the order and a probation violation, according to police.

On Monday morning, he was charged with Gim's murder and he appeared in San Mateo County Superior Court in Redwood City Monday afternoon, according to District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe.

He delayed entering a plea and requested time to retain his own attorney, Wagstaffe said. He is scheduled to return to court Thursday and remains in custody without bail.
