Electrical Issue Prompted Temporary Shutdown Of BART's Oakland Airport Connector Sunday Night

OAKLAND (CBS SF)_ The airport connector shuttle between the O.co Coliseum and Oakland International Airport shut down Sunday for roughly 20 minutes according to a BART dispatcher.

As of 9 p.m., officials said the shuttle was back in service and that it was an electrical issue that prompted officials to close the tracks.

The dispatcher said he did not know whether the electrical issues were related to mechanical problems that shut down the connector temporarily on Friday.

The brand-new connector debuted service in November just ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
