All Bay Bridge lanes open after CHP detain person who was on bridge
The Bay Bridge, west of Treasure Island, experienced several closures during the Wednesday evening commute.
The number 1 and 2 lanes on eastbound I-80, just west of Treasure Island, were initially closed around 3:40 p.m. for a police incident, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At 4 p.m., Caltrans issued an alert saying all eastbound lanes on the Bay Bridge were closed; shortly after, lanes 2 through 4 were opened, with the number 1 and 5 lanes closed down.
The number 1 lane on eastbound I-80 was eventually opened at 4:45 p.m., but the number 5 lane stayed closed after the person who was on the Bay Bridge moved up to the westbound lanes.
Around 5:15 p.m., the number 1 lane on westbound I-80 was closed, CHP said. And all eastbound lanes were open.
