East San Jose Fire Station Closing Due To Mold

SAN JOSE (KCBS) — The San Jose Fire Department is closing down a station on King Road because of problem with mold, a department spokesman said.

Station 16 will be closed while cleaning crews conduct what is being called mold abatement.

The eight fire fighters and two engines assigned to that station will be moved to another station a few miles away.

A fire department spokesman told KCBS they have been aware of problem for a while and decided it would be best to move the fire fighters out until the station can be thoroughly cleaned.
