Early Morning Fire Races Through Martinez Apartment Complex

MARTINEZ (CBS SF) -- Two apartments were destroyed and seven others heavily damaged as a twp-alarm fire raced through a Martinez apartment complex early Tuesday, authorities said.

Contra Costa fire reported they received a 911 call reporting the blaze at 5:20 a.m. at the complex located in the 1200 block Arnold Drive.

Arriving firefighters found four apartments were fully involved in fire and quickly called in a second alarm.

Fortunately, the residents were able to flee the flames safely. One minor injury was reported.

A cause of the fire was still under investigation.
