Early Morning 3.5 Earthquake Strikes Near Geysers
SONOMA COUNTY (CBS SF) – A magnitude 3.5 earthquake struck northern Sonoma County early Friday morning, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
Officials said the tremor was recorded at 5:58 a.m., about 6 miles northwest of The Geysers and 9 miles east of Cloverdale, at an estimated depth of one mile.
The Geysers geothermal field is one of the most seismically active areas in Northern California.
Visitors to the USGS website from Santa Rosa to Clearlake reported feeling the quake. There are no reports of damage or injuries.
