Dryer Fire Prompts Evacuation Of Berkeley Apartment Building

BERKELEY (CBS SF) -- A small dryer fire at a Berkeley apartment building led to a brief evacuation Sunday afternoon, a fire dispatcher said.

The fire was reported at 3:15 p.m. at the building located at Francisco and Grant streets.

There was a lot of smoke, which prompted the evacuation, but there was no damage to any structures, the dispatcher said.

No injuries were reported.

By 4 p.m. firefighters were preparing to leave the scene, she said.
