Dry Weather With Triple Digit Temperatures Back In Bay Area Forecast
(CBS SF) -- A dry, hot weather pattern is setting up in the Bay Area during the final days of summer.
Seasonal highs are expected around Thursday with gradual warming Friday. It will turn downright hot in the inland areas over the weekend with triple digit temperatures.
But unlike last week's sweltering temperatures, it will not be a prolong heat wave.
Look for hazy sunshine Thursday after the fog burns off with moderate air quality in the North Bay due to the Valley Fire.
By Monday, a slight onshore flow with increasing humidity from subtropical moisture moves to the south. As of now, any precipitation is expected south of San Benito County.
A tsunami advisory remains in effect for Central and Southern California after a deadly 8.3-magnitude earthquake hit Chile Wednesday. No tsunami impact is expected in the Bay Area.
"We have nothing to worry about here locally as of now," KPIX 5 Weather Anchor Roberta Gonzales said. At most, three to four feet swells are anticipated in Santa Cruz.
Meanwhile, firefighters are gaining ground on the massive blazes thanks to cooler weather.
The weather was cooperating Wednesday in Lake County, with rain falling steadily at an evacuation center where hundreds of people were staying in trucks and tents.
