Driver Killed In Solo Vehicle Crash On I-780 In Benicia

VALLEJO (CBS SF) -- A 55-year-old woman died when her red Nissan Versa crashed on eastbound Interstate Highway 780 in Benicia Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 11 a.m. east of Glen Cove Road when the Nissan went off the left side of the highway, hit a dirt embankment and overturned, CHP Officer David Harvey said.

The victim was identified as 55-year-old Deborah Barma of Vallejo. According to her Facebook page, she was a caregiver at Home Instead Senior Care in American Canyon.

All lanes of eastbound Highway 780 were initially closed but had all reopened by 12:48 p.m., according to the CHP.
