Driver Hits Cyclist In Oakland, Then Steals His Bike

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- A driver ran down a bicyclist and then stole his bike Thursday afternoon in East Oakland, police said Friday.

Officers responded at 2 p.m. to the 1300 block of 88th Avenue on a report of an assault with a deadly weapon.

The victim was riding a bicycle when the suspect approached him.  After a brief conversation, the cyclist rode away but the suspect followed him and hit him with a car, according to police.

The cyclist fell to the ground and the suspect stole his bicycle.

The victim was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
