Drive-By Shooting Forces San Jose School Lockdown

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) --  Police were searching for a suspect in a Friday drive-by shooting in South San Jose that led a school lockdown, a police spokesman said.

Officers responded to a report of a drive-by shooting that targeted a car at Singleton Road and Water Street shortly before 2 p.m., police Sgt. Enrique Garcia said.

The suspect fled the scene. No one inside the targeted car was injured.

The intersection is in front of Captain James M. Dahl Elementary School, which briefly went on lockdown, Garcia said.
