Draymond Green Sticks Up For Kevin Durant After Paul Pierce's Comments

By Jeremiah Delgado

The Golden State Warriors most vocal leader, Draymond Green, has had enough of the slanderous talk about his new teammate, Kevin Durant. Green opened up about his thoughts on Paul Pierce saying, "I could have left Boston years ago, but I stuck it out. I just feel like when you're that close, as a competitor, you don't go join the team that just put you out."

Green is tired of it and said, "I just wonder at what point do they get bored talking about the same thing?" He did not end his rant there and the rest will definitely capture people's attention, especially Pierce's.

"You got all these guys talking. Like Paul Pierce, like, dude nobody cares what you did or who you did it for. Just give it a break."

Bold statements coming from the Warriors forward. To say no one cares about what Pierce has done might be a little too much. It's understandable that Green is sticking up for his teammate, but Pierce is a future Hall of Famer. Maybe people do care about what he did and who he did it for.

People should not be shocked to hear something like this from Green because this is who he is. He is not afraid to say what is on his mind. Green also made an analogy describing players and how they are all essentially a business.

"Nobody talk junk about the CEO who leaves Apple and goes to Google. As a basketball player, you are the CEO of a business. You are a business. Kevin Durant is a big business. He is the CEO of that business. So him going to play basketball for a different team, the CEO decided to leave where he was at and go somewhere else."

This will not be the last time Green or any of the Warriors will be asked about Durant's decision. At the end of the day people are going to say what they want and Durant is going to have to realize that. He needs to just keep quiet and play the game he loves.
