Missing Elderly Hiker Found Dead In Creek At Hood Mountain Regional Park

SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- A hiker missing since Saturday was found dead on Thursday afternoon.

A search and rescue team found the body of Jon Clifford at 4:45 p.m. Thursday in a creek bed in the south end of Hood Mountain Regional Park east of Santa Rosa, the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office said.

Clifford, 71, was last seen Saturday in the park.

Dozens of people searched for him, and the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office's helicopter Henry-1 and an off-road motorcycle unit assisted in the search.
