Dog Walker Suspected In Hit-And-Run That Killed 2 Dogs In Saratoga

SARATOGA (KPIX 5) -- A Bay Area dog walker widely known for his web videos and photos featuring dogs is being accused of a hit-and-run crash in a Saratoga neighborhood that left two Labradors dead, and their owner injured.

Chris Iles is a professional dog walker and entrepreneur, but Santa Clara County Sheriff's Deputies say Iles slammed his truck into the two dogs in Saratoga last Wednesday, pulling the leashed dogs under the truck.

The owner survived, but her dogs did not.

"The suspect fled the scene. We were able to get a description of the truck from video surveillance cameras in the homes in that area," Sgt. James Jensen said.

A tipster recognized the suspect's truck, which led them to Iles.

Iles rose to internet fame earlier this year for his pictures of perfectly posed dogs, and his dog walking company WalkPro, also known as CritterCare.

Sources told KPIX 5 that Iles had two of his client's dogs in the truck when detectives arrested him Saturday.

"It is a sad crime," Jensen said.
