Dog Shot Twice After Biting Person, Dog In Brentwood

BRENTWOOD (CBS SF) -- An aggressive dog was shot twice Tuesday morning after biting a person and another dog in Brentwood, according to police.

Around 11 a.m. police responded to the 500 block of McIntosh Terrace on reports of dogs barking and a woman screaming for help.

The victim, 60, was trying to break up a fight between two dogs when she was bitten and screamed for help out of fear that the more aggressive dog would kill the other animal, police said.

A nearby citizen came to her aid with a firearm, according to police, and shot the aggressive dog twice after seeing that it had the other dog by the throat.

The aggressive dog stopped attacking after getting shot and the two animals were separated, according to police.

The victim received medical attention but was not taken to a hospital. One dog was transported to a veterinarian and the aggressive dog is in the custody of animal control, police said.
