Die Hard Raiders Fans Urged To Show Up To Key Votes In Oakland
What's up for a vote is called a term sheet, basically spelling out who's in for how much. The $1.3 billion stadium, housing and retail project would need $400 million from a private investor group led by Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott, $500 million from the NFL and the Raiders, $200 million in infrastructure improvements from the city and the land contribution from the county.
Oakland city councilman City councilmember Noel Gallo thinks they have the votes they need to green light it. But, Alameda County Supervisor Scott Haggerty isn't so sure, given that they remember the raw deal tax payers got the last time the county agreed to a plan to bring the Raiders back from Los Angeles.
"The county is not putting any money into this deal. We have only said to this point we will put up land," Haggerty said.
The vote comes a day before NFL owners are set to get an update on a current Raider plan to move to Las Vegas.
