Developer Offers Vision For The Future Of Candlestick Park

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - The development company that will reshape the Candlestick Park area after the structure is demolished has released a video of what they expect the site to look like upon completion.

Lennar Urban released a 30 second video of artist renderings that shows a revived Candlestick Point, complete with restaurants, shops running trails and residences . Company officials say they plan 780,000 square feet of retail space, 150,000 square feet of office space and some 6,000 residences surrounded my more than 100 acres of parks and open space.

There is no exact timeline for completion, but Lennar describes the project as a "10-year, multi-billion dollar" undertaking.

Candlestick Park is scheduled to be demolished in late 2014 or early 2015. The 49ers played their last game at the facility last month, but several events are scheduled before the lights are turned out for good.
