'Dangerous' Behavior On The Rise As Traffic Citations Drop In San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- San Francisco Police issued fewer traffic citations so far this year compared to last year, but more drivers are being cited for bad driving habits.
According to the latest numbers, police issued about 7,000 fewer traffic citations, but 2,000 more citations relating to dangerous driving behavior.
The dangerous behavior includes speeding, not yielding while making a left turn, running red lights, not making a full stop at a stop sign, and not yielding to pedestrians.
Police say they think traffic citations are down because they don't have as many people working on the force.
