Daily Madden: Many Eyes on Arizona-St. Louis Game

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - The Thursday night game between Arizona and St. Louis is important for teams other than the division-leading Cardinals.

"(With) St. Louis you never know," John Madden told the KCBS Radio morning crew. "They're not one of the top teams, but they can beat any of the top teams, and I think that's true of Arizona."

A St. Louis victory would move the Seahawks within a half game of the division lead. It would also help keep the 49ers' slim playoff hopes alive as they prepare to play the Seahawks in Seattle Sunday. And the Packers would have a better shot at playing in Green Bay throughout the playoffs.

"Arizona is the better team," Madden said. "But that doesn't necessarily mean that they're going to win... The Super Bowl this year is in Arizona and that would be a first, where you play the Super Bowl at home. And I know that's their goal. If that's their goal, they have to beat teams like St. Louis."
