Daily Madden: Lynch Is The Key To Seahawks Success

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - The Seattle Seahawks looked like the defending Super Bowl champions they are in dominating the Green Bay Packers in a 36-16 win in Seattle Thursday night.

"When you look at the NFL and you have to say who is the best team in the league, you always put Seattle at the top," John Madden told the KCBS Radio morning crew. "And then you add a little something to it when they play at home. They're darn near unbeatable there."

Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch picked up 110 yards and two touchdowns.

"We talk about this is a passing league and all that stuff," Madden said. "But the importance of a tough running game makes all the difference in the world in an offense. You just look at what Marshawn Lynch gave that Seattle offense last night. To me that's what it was all about... You have him running and pounding in there, and then (the defense) better hunker down and take care of that inside stuff. You can fake to Lynch and bring Percy Harvin around, you can fake to Marshawn Lynch and throw that option pass... I think it's all tied together by Lynch." (7:00)
