Daily Madden: Expect To See Bumgarner In Game 7

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - Bruce Bochy has settled the debate among fans and pundits. The Giants manager announced Tim Hudson will start Game 7 of the World Series against the Kansas City Royals.

"I know (Madison) Bumgarner is not starting tonight," John Madden told the KCBS Radio morning crew. "But does he get in there? And when does he get in there? And how long does he get in there? I think he has to get in there."

After winning Game 1, Bumgarner pitched a four-hit complete game shutout in Game 4 Sunday.

He holds a 4-0 World Series record. Madden said it's clear Bochy had been looking at the various Game 7 pitching scenarios early in the series, including using his ace on two days rest.

"It's adjusting with a lot of knowledge and preparation," Madden said. "You don't go in on the seat of your pants and you don't adjust and make moves on the seat of your pants. That's all preparation and thought... You use that information that you've accumulated to make these moves. You don't decide two days ago what you're going to do tonight, but you have thoughts about what you would do in these situations should they arise." (7:40)
