Daily Madden: Curry An All Star In More Ways Than One

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - Golden State guard Stephen Curry was named an NBA All Star starter Thursday, the first Warrior to be so honored since 1995.

"He's a great role model," John Madden told the KCBS Radio morning crew. "He's the type of guy that every sport wants to be the face of their sport... His being a starter on the All Star team, that's a big thing, that's the reward. You could be a good guy on the court, a good guy off the court, and not be an All Star...When you put that whole combination together, it's pretty good."

Denver Broncos defensive lineman Terrance 'Pot Roast' Knighton is getting a lot of attention following his stellar performance against the Patriots in Sunday's AFC Championship game.

"That was a big stage," Madden said. "When you have a big game on a big stage... and then you have the nickname 'Pot Roast,' that's all you need."

Knighton and the Broncos face the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl February 2. (6:50)
