MARIN COUNTY (CBS SF) -- A San Francisco man who became lost while running on a trail on Mount Tamalpais on Tuesday found his way back to his parked car Wednesday morning, park officials said.
Around 30 people from the Marin County Sheriff's Office's search and rescue team, the Marin County Open Space District and rangers from the Marin Municipal Water District began searching for 33-year-old Nathan Wilson around 4 a.m., said Phil Johnson, senior park ranger with the water district.
Wilson's fiancée called San Francisco police around 2 a.m. to report him missing. He had left San Francisco for Mt. Tam around 2 p.m. Tuesday, Johnson said.
Wilson was running on the Cataract Trail near Alpine Lake Reservoir when he lost the trail as it became dark, according to Johnson.
