UPDATE: Crews Contain Oakland Structure Fire; Halt Spread To Apartment Building, Food Trucks

OAKLAND (CBS SF) -- Fast-working Oakland fire crews were able to save a restaurant, an apartment house and several food trucks late Tuesday night as a blaze erupted inside an adjacent building.

The fire broke out around 10 p.m. in the 2300 block of 27th Street. Crews were quickly dispatched to the scene and were immediately confronted by towering flames billowing out of an attached outbuilding work space for the kitchen.

"Thanks to the great work crews kept it out of the restaurant and protected the food trucks which are stored in the adjoining parking lot," fire officials tweeted.

At about 10:49 p.m., fire officials tweeted the blaze was out and there were no reports of injuries.

No word as to what caused the fire.
