Crew Strikes Gas Line In Campbell, Shelter In Place Ordered

CAMPBELL (CBS SF) – Some people are sheltering in place Thursday afternoon as firefighters and PG&E crews respond to a gas leak in Campbell, police and fire officials said.

The leak was first reported at 12:51 p.m. at Camden Avenue and White Oaks Road, near state Highway 17.

A construction crew hit a 10-inch gas line, Campbell police Capt.  Joe Cefalu and Santa Clara County Fire Department spokeswoman Stephanie Stuehler said.

County fire officials called for additional resources because the leak is near a busy intersection and they want to make sure people are safe.
