Coyote Spotted Near Pacifica Apartment Complex

PACIFICA (KPIX 5) – Pet owners in Pacifica are on alert after an aggressive coyote has been spotted in the area.

The animal has been spotted near the Land's End Apartments on Esplanade Avenue.

One resident said a coyote charged at him and his dog this morning. Another resident said the animal could be hunting as part of a pack.

Bart Willoughby told KPIX 5 that he saw the coyote. "When you have one or more coyotes in the area, they will basically, one will keep your attention and the other one will try to attack whatever it's trying to go…they can be very aggressive," Willoughby said.

Wildlife experts said pet owners in the area should keep their animals close by. If you spot a coyote, keep your distance.
