Coyote Caught Roaming San Francisco's Corona Heights

SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX 5) – A coyote was caught making a rare appearance in San Francisco Wednesday morning as it roamed through the city's Corona Heights neighborhood.

Video obtained by KPIX 5 showed the coyote walking in the middle of a road around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Another video from a camera on States Street showed the same coyote walking along a sidewalk while a car passes by.

A resident also snapped pictures of the coyote as it roamed around the neighborhood.

Coyotes have been spotted several times in San Francisco in the last few months. KPIX 5 reporter Joe Vazquez captured a coyote on video roaming through Telegraph Hill in October.

In September, a coyote killed a dog at Stern Grove in the city's Sunset District.

Corona Heights residents are being urged to keep their dogs on a short leash and to avoid leaving them unattended.
