Kentucky Derby Postponed Until September Due To Coronavirus Pandemic

CHURCHILL DOWNS (KPIX) - For the first time in 55 years, the Kentucky Derby will not happen on the first Saturday in May.

The 146th Run for the Roses was postponed from May 2, until May 2 due to the coronavirus outbreak, according to Churchill Downs officials.

The date change is expected to be approved by the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission later this week.
