Cupertino Teen Missing For 4 Days Spent Most Of Time On High School Campus Eating From Fruit Trees

CUPERTINO (CBS SF) – A Cupertino teen who had been missing for four days reportedly spent the majority of his time underneath the bleachers of his high school.

Police said 17-year-old Connor Sullivan was found safe Thursday evening after he was last seen by his family at about 7 a.m. Monday.

Sullivan attended his first period class at Monta Vista High School, however he missed his remaining classes and didn't show up for track practice later that day, deputies said.

The school's staff reported that Sullivan was last seen at approximately 10 a.m.

James Jensen with the Santa Clara Co. Sheriff's Office says Sullivan returned home safe after passing some time at the Fremont Older Space Reserve.

However Jensen said Sullivan spent the majority of time on the high school campus sleeping under the bleachers. He also picked fruit off of the campus fruit trees to eat, drank out of the school's water fountains and used the campus porta-potties.

Connor told investigators school was stressful but that's not why he ran away.

This case is being classified as a "spontaneous runaway," according to Jensen.
