Concord Police Investigating City's First Homicide Of The Year

CONCORD (CBS SF) -- Police in Concord were investigating a shooting that left a man dead Thursday night.

It is the city's first murder in 2014.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1600 block of Adelaide Street at about 8:55 p.m., according to police.

When officers arrived, they found a man lying on the road, suffering from at least one gunshot wound, police said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said it is unknown what led to the shooting, which remains under investigation.
