Concord Officials Ask Residents To Report Possible Storm Damage As El Niño Approaches

CONCORD (CBS SF) -- With heavy storms forecast to hit the Bay Area as El Nino approaches, Concord officials are asking residents to be on alert for its potential consequences.

According to city officials, Concord's Public Works is requesting that locals who see downed trees, flooded streets or overflowing creeks to report the problem.

Crews are ready to address these issues at any time of the day or night, city officials said.

The Public Works office can be reached from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at (925) 671-3448. After hours, residents can call Concord police dispatchers to report problems at (925) 671-3333.

The National Weather Service issued an advisory for the Bay Area tonight, warning that rain could be heavy enough to cause ponds to form on roadways and small streams to flood.
