Concord Gas Station Robbed At Gunpoint

CONCORD (CBS SF) -- Concord police are looking for two men who robbed a gas station clerk at gunpoint early Tuesday morning.

The robbery was reported at 5:01 a.m. at the Valero gas station at 2200 Solano Way. The two suspects entered the station and one pointed a handgun at the clerk at the cash register and demanded that he open the register, police said.

According to police, the clerk complied and the other suspect grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. The two then fled on foot toward Broadmoor Avenue.

Both suspects were described as black men wearing dark-colored hooded sweatshirts and jeans, police said.

Officers attempted to track the suspects using a K-9 unit, but were not able to locate them.

Police are reviewing video surveillance footage from the gas station and attempting to recover other surveillance footage from surrounding businesses, according to Cpl. Chris Blakely.

Police ask anyone with information on this case to contact investigators at (925) 671-3030 or an anonymous tip line at (925) 603-5836.
