Concord Airport Offering Flights To Las Vegas, SoCal Soon

CONCORD (KCBS) -- Commercial air travel service to Southern California and Las Vegas is coming to Concord's Buchanan Field Airport.

JetSuite will begin flying its 30-seater planes to Burbank Bob Hope Airport from Buchanan Field later this month. There will be three round trip flights on weekdays.

JetSuite, a private jet operator, will offer the flights on its JetSuite X private-for-public travel service, with comparable prices to commercial flights.

"At this point it's $109 each way.  Prices will go up to $250-300 when we get full service," Keith Freitas, Director of Airports for Contra Costa County said.

The airline will also offer service to Las Vegas, with a regular Friday night flight there, and a return flight on Sunday.

Concord hasn't had commercial flight service since 1992.
