Person Killed After Jumping In Front Of BART Train At SF Civic Center Station

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- BART trains were not stopping at the Civic Center station in San Francisco Monday afternoon after a person was killed by apparently jumping in front of a train, BART and fire officials said.

The San Francisco Fire Department responded to reports of a person jumping in front of a train at 2:27 p.m., fire officials said.

BART spokesman Jim Allison said the person trapped under the train was killed.

BART trains were not stopping at Civic Center and were proceeding to the next station, Allison said.

Only one track through the station was operating and the station platform has been evacuated, Allison said.
