CHP Helicopter Rescues Paraglider Who Crashed Near Napa County Lake

NAPA (CBS SF) -- A California Highway Patrol flight officer and paramedic rescued a paraglider from a remote area of Napa County Saturday.

At 2:06 p.m., a CHP helicopter from the Golden Gate Division Air Operations unit responded to a call regarding a paraglider who crashed near in a remote part of Napa County, near Lake Hennessey, according to CHP officials.

The helicopter responded to the call because the location of the crash was not accessible by road, preventing fire of medical personnel from responding to the scene, CHP officials said.

The helicopter arrived at the scene approximately 10 minutes after the call had been placed and was able to land in a field near the injured paraglider, according to CHP officials.

The CHP paramedic treated the injured person at the scene and then transported the person to a hospital, CHP officials said.
