Boy Struck by Automobile in San Jose Friday Evening Dies

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A boy has died from injuries he suffered after colliding with an automobile early Friday evening, according to a San Jose police spokesperson.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with police. The police spokesperson said there are no indications of DUI.

The boy was taken to a local hospital after suffering life-threatening injuries. The collision occurred in the area of Camden Avenue and Kooser Road in the Cambrian neighborhood, in south San Jose.

KPIX video from the scene showed a juvenile's shoe on the street which had apparently been knocked off the victim's foot.

A witness who said they were riding their motorcycle alongside the vehicle involved in the accident said the boy came suddenly into traffic while drivers had a green light.

The witness said the victim flew through the air five or six feet after being struck.
