Caught On Video: 3 Suspects Use Chains, Truck To Steal ATM Machine From Walnut Creek Gas Station

WALNUT CREEK (CBS SF) -- Three suspects stole an ATM from a Walnut Creek gas station on Friday evening, police said.

The theft occurred shortly after 5 p.m., when three people in a truck entered a Shell gas station at 265 Ygnacio Valley Road and pulled up to the station booth, Walnut Creek police Sgt. M. McLaughlin said.

One of the suspects, who was wearing a red beanie, distracted the station clerk and the second suspect, who was wearing a black hoodie, attached a cable to an outdoor ATM, McLaughlin said.

The third suspect then drove the vehicle, which pulled the ATM from its mount, according to McLaughlin.

The suspects then lifted the machine to the back of the truck and fled the scene, he said.

The suspect vehicle is described as a white Ford F-250 or F-350 four-wheel drive truck. It has a Quad Cab and a long bed, according to police.

Anyone with information on the theft is asked to call Walnut Creek police at (925) 943-5844, Detective Estrada at (925) 943-5877 OR Detective Connors at (925) 943-5872.
