Caught On Camera: SUV Nearly Runs Over Baby Stroller After San Francisco SoMa Crash

SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX 5) -- A mother taking her baby for a stroll in San Francisco's South of Martet is thanking her lucky stars Friday after nearly getting run over by an out of control SUV.

Police said the SUV had collided with another vehicle moments before at 3rd and Harrison streets at about 9:45 Friday morning. The impact of the collision sent the SUV into the handrail of a building entrance, missing the baby stroller by inches.

The unidentified woman pushing the stroller is seen on the building's security camera video backing the stroller up from the path of the hurtling SUV just in the nick of time.

San Francisco Police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said both adult male drivers were taken to the hospital complaining of pain. The crash was under investigation, he said.
