UPDATE: Car Crash In Fairfield Leaves Thousands Without Power

FAIRFIELD (CBS SF) -- Police in Fairfield said late Friday evening that a roadway which has been closed for several hours following a traffic collision will now be closed until Saturday morning.

Due to fallen power lines -- which went down following the collision -- Vanden Road will remain closed until 8 a.m. Saturday to give utility crews time to clear the street of the power lines and to realign and repair them for service in the area.

Vanden Road will remain closed between Canon Road and One Lake Drive.

Detours will remain in place. Suggested alternate routes between Vacaville and Fairfield is Air Base Parkway to Peabody Road or Interstate 80.
