Caltrans Closes Ramp To Stinson Beach Due To Rain, High Tides

MARIN CO. (CBS SF) -- Caltrans has closed the northbound U.S. Highway 101 off-ramp to state Highway 1 and Stinson Beach because of flooding from king tides and rainfall Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP was informed of the closure at 8:22 a.m., CHP Officer Andrew Barclay said.

Caltrans has a maintenance yard at the off-ramp and is able to determine when to close the ramp, which regularly floods during high tides, Barclay said.

As an alternate route, northbound motorists heading to Highway 1 and Stinson Beach should exit the highway further north at Blithedale Avenue, drive west and turn left on Camino Alto, then turn left on Miller Avenue to Highway 1, Barclay said.
