Caltrain Train Strikes and Kills Pedestrian In Mountain View

MOUNTAIN VIEW (KCBS) – A southbound Caltrain struck and killed an adult male on the tracks south of Rengstorff Avenue in Mountain View on Wednesday morning.

Caltrain officials said the incident occurred at about 10:15 a.m. There were 103 passengers on train #134 at the time of the collision. Officials said there were no injuries to anyone onboard the train.

Southbound trains will stop at the California Avenue station in Palo Alto and then turn north, stopping at all stations. Northbound trains will stop at the Mountain View station and then turn south.

The Valley Transportation Authority will provide a bus bridge between the California Avenue, San Antonio and Mountain View stations. VTA will also be accepting all Caltrain tickets.

It was unclear how long the investigation will take into the incident.

The fatality is the fourth on the Caltrain track in 2014.
