Caltrain Strikes, Kills Person In Atherton

ATHERTON (CBS SF) -- Caltrain officials said riders should expect delays in both directions after a person was fatally struck by a train in Atherton Sunday afternoon.

The incident was reported around 12:53 p.m., when a person was struck by southbound train 802 in the Atherton Caltrain station.

Trains were stopped in the area with roughly 1,200 people onboard.

At around 1:15 p.m., Caltrain officials said they were setting up a SamTrans bus bridge to accommodate those passengers.
